Minnesota standard deduction for 2025
You can claim the state standard deduction even if you itemized on your federal return. The 2025 standard deduction amounts are as follows:
- Married filing jointly: $29,900
- Head of household: $22,500
- Single: $14,950
- Married filing separately: $14,950
Additional standard deduction:
Blind taxpayers or those born before January 2, 1961, may be able to claim an additional amount.
- Single or Married filing separately: Add $2,000 if blind; add $2,000 if age 65 or older.
- Married filing jointly: Add $1,550 for each spouse who is blind; add $1,550 for each spouse who is age 65 or older.
